I've always wondered why women don't like sharing information - whether it's where they purchased a dress or sharing where they printed their business cards. I'm quite the contraire! Beauties & The Brunch is a place where women can come together to network and develop new connections. I learned that over half of the attendees were entrepreneurs and boss chicks in their own right. I hosted the second Beauties & The Brunch on Sunday, April 26th. This brunch was double the size of the last. The owners of beauty studio, Elle C. Luxury, were the guest speakers to discuss the beauties and the beasts of starting a brand/business. I've partnered with Elle C. Luxury and became a brand ambassador for their hair line, Glam Girl Life, and was so honored to have them speak at this event. I loved how informative they were and kept it real answering questions, interacting with the attendees, and providing feedback. We enjoyed a two course brunch, bottomless mimomas, snapped tons of selfies, and indulged in the bite-size bar. I never thought that an idea to bring women together would manifest into something so beautiful and sell out each time. I look forward to the future for my baby, Beauties & The Brunch.

I had the pleasure of being one of the North Carolina bloggers to participate in the Sally Beauty "Flaunt Your Look" campaign. I spent an evening at my local Sally Beauty store talking about achieving versatile hairstyles for the everyday fashionable woman and those with children using Strength of Nature products: Beautiful Textures and African Pride Dream Kids. I learned so many women are afraid to step out the box and try trendy styles they see on social media or magazines. I assured them it's all about having the right products and confidence to rock it. The evening was filled with tons of giveaways, Q&A, and of course selfies. Thank you to everyone who attended! If you weren't able to attend join the conversation on social media using hashtag #SallyTalksTextures. Leave a comment on this blog post with your e-mail for a chance to win a Beautiful Textures and African Pride Dream Kids product package from me!

I got lashed today by Elle C. Luxury co-owner and Xtreme Lash stylist, Charlie Butler. Xtreme Lashes Eyelash Extensions are developed to mimic your natural eyelashes, each eyelash extension is individually applied to a single eyelash, resulting in a gorgeous, natural appearance. I've seen them on so many friends and they're so natural and pretty. I wanted to try an every day look with lasting look. With proper care these can last up for a month.
The process was pretty interesting. First, my lashes had to be cleaned. Second, primer was set for the special glue. Third, gel patches were placed under my bottom eye lids to protect from getting glue on them. Fourth, tape was placed to hold my eyelids in place to properly place the lashes as close to the lashline. Lastly, the lashes were applied. The whole process was about an hour and a half. The only downside was my rear end hurting from laying on the reclined chair for that long and being antsy.
