I was honored amongst fifty of Charlotte's influencers at The Garner Circle's Fab 50 Awards in the ultra chic Bubble Champagne Lounge located in the Epicentre. The signature event, dubbed #CharlotteFab50, honored some of the Queen City's finest city officials, media professionals, corporate executives, business moguls, small business owners, gallery owners, bloggers, designers, and more. The #CharlotteFab50 provided the perfect atmosphere to mix, mingle, and network. All honorees were given a trophy and we celebrated with a toast sponsored by Bacardi Superior. Guests enjoyed complimentary cocktails, food-by-the-bite, and complimentary swag bags. I made some awesome business connections and was so surprised to know how many people in my own city were fans of my blog. I wore the "Tamara" ruched dress from Size Appeal by SWAK Designs paired with black slingbacks. If you're looking for fashionable plus size clubwear,Size Appeal is the latest brand to bring us sexy pieces. If you've noticed I decided to stick with my signature jet black hair for this hair install. I love black hair because it looks so lush and healthy.

I am all about supporting local businesses, so of course my new hair extensions are from a company right out of Greensboro, North Carolina - Black Barbie Hair. I was beyond excited to receive four bundles of 24" 26", and 2 28" Brazilian body wave. I'm in love with the lush texture and how manageable it is, which is key to quality virgin hair. I'm debating if I should be bold and try some color for the warmer weather or stick with my jet black tresses. Decisions, decisions, decisions. I was one of the special hosts for the unveiling of Rip Lash Studio, a nail and waxing studio, in Charlotte. The pretty in pink studio hosts two waxing rooms, a cozy pedicure area, and several nail stations. It's the chicest place to sit back, relax, and get pampered. With pocket friendly prices every fatshionista can get the rockstar treatment. We enjoyed mimosas, champagne infused chocolate-covered strawberries, giant cupcakes, and more sweet treats from Trios Treats. Prior to the event, I got my nails blinged out for the big day by owner, Chris aka "Buff Salon." She knows my love of all things black and white adding tribal print, rhinestones, and old English letters spelling out "Boss." Oh, I've been rocking my natural hair for a week or so. I'm digging the after effect of taking out my twists.

Who would've thought that I would be asked to host an event? I hosted the beYOUtee Brand t-shirt launch at Apostrophe Lounge. The collection is catered to women of all sizes, but targets plus size women in an effort to allow us a change to make a statement through fatshion. The t-shirts display bold messages such as "FATSHIONISTA" and "Be pretty, not petty." Of course I wore the shirt doning the name of my blog. The event was tons of fun with a DJ playing all the latest, giveaways, and yummy food. I can't wait to style my "Be pretty, not petty" t-shirt soon. Check out beYOUtee brand's site and make a fashionable statement.

The bold, baroque style of Versace have revitalized in fashion. I've always loved the silk chain print scarfs and the gaudy gold motifs. I kept true to the theme in a gold chain bodycon dress from Chic and Curvy Boutique. I love textures, so a platform lace bootie was a fun contrast to my dress. When wearing black, you should always have a bold lip - mine was go to "Red Racer" by MAC.
