Born To Be Wild

This was my first official night out in Charlotte since moving back last weekend. I had a great time out on the town with old and new friends. The night began at Crave Dessert Bar to celebrate my longtime friend's 26th birthday enjoying dessert, martinis, and flavored hookah. Afterwards, I met up with new gal pals for some partying at Club 935. I was lusting after this colorful snake print dress from Love Drunk Boutique, so of course it had to be added to my closet. I'm obsessed with the three-fourth and long sleeve mini dress trend this season. For those who like coverage, but still femininity this is an awesome style. With this cold spring weather, I was covered enough. The dress was a perfect match with my cobalt suede Nine West heels. I normally don't play around in eyeshadows, but I did a smokey eye and hot pink lips. I had a fabulous time and look forward to creating more memories in my new city. How do you like this look?

To Infinity & Beyond

I attended Infinite Style Online's event, From 1 to Infinity: A Soiree, to celebrate its first year in business. The event was hosted at the Dupp & Swap Studios in NoDa (North Davidson), a very artsy and hipster side of Charlotte. The loft-style space was chic and very hip. The Dupp & Swat studio sells local clothing, accessories, shoes, and art work. It's also a location to house photoshoots and fashion shows. Nita, founder of Infinite Style Boutique, looked fabulous and was a great hostess. They had yummy food, wine, music, and giveaways. On top of that, attendees were able to shop the racks of Infinite Style. I got to meet a few of my blog readers as well. It was my first of many events to attend in Charlotte and I can't wait for Style Week in April. Visit Infinite Style Online for fashionable plus size clothing.

Blogger

My St. Patrick's day didn't include a single hue of green unless you count my mint green nails. I hung out with my best friend, Crystal, and spent the entire afternoon deciding how we were going to spend our Sunday. We weren't really in the mood for drunken ball crawlers participating in the downtown festivities. It was a gorgeous day with blue skies and 71 degree weather. I opted for my "blogger" t-shirt by Custom Plus and distressed, tie dyed denim shorts, and thigh high black boots. Of all the labels that society gives people, this one suits me perfectly. I remember when I first started blogging in 2008 and no one knew what a blog was. I love being a blogger and my passion for fashion and writing birthed something so beautiful - Diary of a Fatshionista. How was your St. Patrick's Day?

Queen Bee

I've had my eye on this dress ever since its debut on Chic and Curvy Boutique's Instagram. I was so gracious they sent me this dress for review. I went out last night with a close girl friend to celebrate my last night in Greensboro because I'm moving back to Charlotte on Saturday. So I had tons to celebrate - end of one chapter and the beginning of antoher. I've never worn yellow and was so nervous about this color, but it looked phenomenal on my skin tone. The unique, curve alluding pattern accented the body conscious fit . I originally had the dress in the blue, black, and white color scheme and in a 3X, but opted for this color scheme in a size down. The smaller size made the dress fit tighter, especially around the thigh and knee areas. I rocked my Jibby Jewels Galore black and gold lion head earrings to add just enough glamour. These are by far my favorite earrings ever in my collection. Jibby Jewels is having a crazy sale on all of the earrings now, so take advantage of the savings. Everyone always asks about this hot pink lipstick and it's Candy Yum Yum by MAC. I was able to get my hands on it when it became a permanent color a few months ago. Hope you visit the websites of these fabulous companies, Chic and Curvy Boutique and Jibby Jewels Galore. What are your thoughts on my look last night?

CIAA 2013

Outfits in order, hair laid, and accessories picked I zoomed down Highway 85 south to Charlotte to join my friends for a high volume party weekend, CIAA. For those who don't know what CIAA is, it stands for Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, which is an athletic conference competing in NCAA Division II basketball (mainly historically black colleges and universities). Alumni, students, and people who just want to party travel from all over the country just for this weekend. This was probably the best one to date because of all the awesome parties and the amount of celebrities hosting events. Thursday night, I went to Crave Dessert Bar and had a tiramisu martini and smoked coconut-vanilla flavored hookah before I headed to 5th Element where my girl, Alexis, was hosting. I purchased a ticket a month in advance for the Maz Ent. party at Label, which is where we headed last. Label was turnt up to the maximum and I was so happy to meet up with my bestie Crystal. I wore my black and white zig-zag print ASOS dress with blue suede heels and a red quilted chain press. Focusing on two, bold primary colors complemented the dress well. Big curls and red lips added just enough sexiness. I didn't have any plans for day parties for Friday, so we headed downtown to the Epicentre. We had drinks at Kazba and then joined some other gal pals at BlackFinn Salon for a day party and had dinner. I kept it simple and casual with a polka dot sheer blouse, black leggings, and booties. The color was all in my makeup - Candy Yum Yum lips and teal bottom eye liner. That night was full of disorganization and confusion, but I ended up partying for free. Juicy J was performing as I walked in and it was wall-to-wall packed. My outfit was probably my most favorite to date - it was sophisticated and uber glamorous. I wore a magenta (more like purple) ASOS one shoulder polo neck dress paired with fringe booties and gold accessories. I only partied during the day on Saturday at Caviar Nightlife where Chrisette Michelle performed and Yo Gotti hosted. Chrisette Michelle peformed the chorus to my favorite song, "Aston Martin Music." I was so exhausted after that and retired to my hotel room. I had major plans to go out later that night, but my body disagreed with my brain. My weekend was spent celebrating some fantastic news - relocating back to Charlotte for a new job! Next year is supposed to be the last year in Charlotte before the tournament moves to another city, so I'll go out with a bang the next go round.
