Wake Up Pretty Party

I had a fabulous opportunity to be a guest blogger for the Nordstrom South Park's "Wake Up Pretty Party" last Saturday from 8:30-9:30am. The show consisted of representatives from such brands as Clarisonic, Chanel, Bond No 9, MAC, Nars, Lancome, Dior, and Smashbox (just to name a few) introducing new products for the fall and also tons of amazing giveaways. The set-up was very New York Fashion Week like with the black wooden chairs forming a runway. I sat front row snapping photos of the show. I even won a MAC bAttendees had the chance to enjoy one-on-one appointments with beauty experts to learn makeup applications and get their makeup done and score exclusive gifts with purchases. It was such an amazing event to be apart of and meet tons of the friendly, knowledgeable team at Nordstrom South Park. I loved my swag bag the beauty team gave me. It was filled with tons of samples and a full bottle of Chance by Chanel perfume - my first Chanel scent! I told you all I'm obsessed with athletic inspired outfits and rocked a navy and white striped jersey from 8One12 Boutique and white faux leather joggers from Love Drunk Boutique. This trend is so fun, comfy, and chic!

Varsity City Blues

I was inspired by an athletic chic look doned by one of my favorite fashionistas, Kim Kardashian. Of course, I had to put my own spin on it. The athletic wear trend is becoming so much more popular with jackets to jerseys to jogger pants. I love how Kim K. owned this look and mixed her high glamour with sportswear. I found a baseball jacket from New Look Inspire. I paired it with a simple black bodycon skirt and slingbacks. I love Kim's look with the sleek ponytail and her mesh insert skirt. As I've said before, athletic wear is becoming more and more popular this season and I'm absolutely obsessed.

Charlotte Fashion Week

I had the ultimate pleasure of assisting my friend and fashion designer, Nicci Hou, with her showcase in Charlotte Fashion Week. She was apart of the emerging designer competition (she's far from emerging) last Friday. I was an intern at the first ever Charlotte Fashion Week in 2008, so being apart of this production again was so much fun. I was so amazed at how this event has evolved and was on a much more grandeur scale. The location was at the Hilton Center City Hotel in uptown Charlotte. The ballroom's decor fit the Parisian theme of the show and Nicci's collection, Film Noir, was french inspired. Needless to say, Nicci Hou's collection was crème de la crème. I had such a great time getting to know the ten models and getting them ready to rip the runway. With all of the running around I had to keep my outfit simple - doning a NICCI HOU t-shirt, simple black leggings, and some comfy ballet flats. Everyone was so intrigued by my custom name pin from Faux The Lo thinking I had a name tag on.  I tried a new lipstick from MAC, Flat Out Fabulous. It's a great color for fall. Enjoy all of the photos from behind the scenes. (P.S. Nicci Hou will be launching a Curve Collection this fall and I'll have the inside scoop. Stay tuned!)

White Hot

It's been deemed taboo to wear white after Labor Day. To end my Labor Day weekend with a bang, I pulled this banging white dress out of my closet just for the occassion. I purchased this ASOS Deep Plunge Keyhole Bodycon dress two months ago just for an annual white party in Charlotte, but didn't even go. Instead I party hopped to Deltas and a J. Cole party at Label with some of my favorite girlfriends. I've been obsessed with deep v-necks lately.  It's very hard to find a fashionable white dress and this one was perfect. I don't believe in the "no white after Labor Day," so I will definitely be rocking some winter white.
