The Perfect Fit(ness)

Monif C is definitely one of my favorite plus size designers. She did nothing short of wowing me with this summer's collection. My favorite piece is the "Whitley" dress, which is right on trend fashions with the array of neon colors. When I saw this dress a few weeks ago, I knew this was the one for my 24th birthday. I ordered the coral dress today in a size 2 (18/20) considering the 3 in the Emma dress was a little too loose. Also, the smaller dress size would be weight loss goal. I want these exact shoes, but Jessica Simpson's 11s are sometimes too small and hard to find.

Wednesday, I went to a bariatric doctor to begin the process of losing weight. I seriously proscrastinated with this goal for such a long time. Getting fit and shedding serious pounds is something I want and need to do for myself. I weighed in at 320 pounds and I actually thought I was bigger than that. According to my BMI, someone my height (5'10) should weigh 180. That would be so skinny. I don't have a goal weight, but I would love to be a solid 16/18. I want every big girl to know she's beautiful, but health is more important. I have a history of high blood pressure and diabetes on my father's side of the family and that's not something I want to deal with as I age. I got a B-12 shot to increase energy and suppress appetite and a HCG shot to shrink fat cells and to lose inches in my waist. I'm sticking to a 1900 calorie diet and trying my hardest to work out 3-4 times a week for 30-45 minutes. I know I can do it and I can't wait to start seeing results. I want to be able to flaunt my stomach by next summer. Any work out tips, weight loss testimonials, advice you'd like to share?

Bad Girls

I'm so late with posts. Forgive me! Last Tuesday, I was still in Charlotte after my NYC trip, so I went to Caviar Nightlife for the Bad Girls Club party hosted by Gia. It so happens that Gia is childhood friends with my friend, Samora. It was a chill night, so I didn't get uberly glammed up. When I bought this pink and tan striped bodycon skirt from H&M in Times Square, I knew instantly what I wanted to pair it with - my snakeskin Enzos and Torrid sheer top. This is one of my favorite outfits because of the feminine and menswear combination. A little "Snob" on the lips and everything was complete.

NYC Baby

I took a much needed vacation to New York City April 13 - 16 to visit my friend Dee (blogger from Pushing The Cutting Edge). It was my first time to the Big Apple ever, so I so nervous. My Delta flight was supposed to leave Charlotte at 1:10pm and because of my plane technical difficulties, I boarded a 4:05pm flight. Needless to say, I finally landed in NYC around 6pm. Of course, Delta didn't have my luggage because of the flight change, so I had to walk around the city with sweats and sneakers. I could care less and was ready to venture out and see everything I could that night before having to head back to the airport at 11:45 to pickup my luggage. We went to the Queens Center Mall where I bought some goodies from Forever 21+ and then to the infamous BBQ. I needed a drink after the day I had. Saturday, we headed to 7A in SoHo to meet up with a college friend and then shopping. SoHo was so my speed. I was so happy I had cash because I bought something from almost every street vendor I passed. I'm such an accessories girl, so I was in heaven at all the earrings I found at Necessary Clothing. All of the fashion, people, noise, and street action was overwhelming and breathtaking at the same time. I got to meet one of my blog followers as well. Over 500 miles away and a fatshionista recognized me! Sunday, Dee took me to Times Square and the wholesale jewelry district where I did more shopping damage. Later that night, we went to Brooklyn, so I could see the Brooklyn Bridge. It was so pretty. Although, my trip was short, I had an amazing time. I took so many pictures, ate tons of good food, and shopped until I dropped. I can't wait for my next visit to the Big Apple.

All White Everything

I headed back home to Charlotte for Easter weekend, which meant family, friends, food, and fun. My fabulous friend Alexis hosted her birthday party at Club 935’s infamous Red Room Sundays. For this reason, I packed my white Monif C. Marilyn convertible dress. Finally a chance to wear it! All of my friends met at the Renaissance Hotel in South Park to glam up for the big night. My friend Samora watched one of Monif C.'s YouTube videos to learn an unique way to tie the convertible dress. I felt like a mummy getting all wrapped up. The only thing I wish I would’ve done differently was have better shapewear that really sucked me in. I’m excited to wear the dress in a different style (maybe Greek goddess-esque) for a white party this summer. Hope you all had a great Easter weekend!

The Streets at Southpoint

I snagged some fabulous finds at The Streets at Southpoint in Durham this Tuesday. The Forever 21 and Nordstrom did me right! My friend Samora called me around 10:30am and said she was bored, so I said come to Greensboro so we can hang. We got all dolled up and hit the highway to Durham. I've heard great things about the Southpoint Mall and wasn't too impressed. The two-story Forever 21 housed an extremely small and cluttered plus section. I bought a long sleeve fringe top, a body con skirt, and a basic cami. I wasn't leaving the mall without a pair of shoes, so Nordstrom we went. My friend Samora knows my struggle to find a fashionable, tall heel, so she already enlightened the Nordstrom's salesman of my needs. He came out with five boxes of twelves putting a smile on my face. Out of all the boxes, there was a beautiful faux snakeskin 5" peeptoe Enzo Angiolini with my name all over it. I left the mall the happiest girl in the world knowing I had a brand new pair of shoes.
